On August 28, the stainless steel branch of China Iron and Steel Industry Association released the statistical data on the output, import and export, and apparent consumption of stainless steel crude steel in Chinese Mainland in July 2025 as follows:

In July 2025, the national crude steel production of stainless steel was 3.2424 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12900 tons or 0.39% compared to July 2024. Among them, the production of Cr Ni stainless steel was 1.7052 million tons, an increase of 102000 tons or 6.36% year-on-year; The production of Cr Mn stainless steel was 940900 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 25900 tons, a decrease of 2.68%; The production of Cr series stainless steel was 561100 tons, a decrease of 103700 tons or 15.60%; 35316 tons of duplex stainless steel, an increase of 14803 tons or 72.16% year-on-year. 

In July 2025, the import volume of stainless steel in China was 73000 tons, a decrease of 36400 tons or 33.3% compared to the previous month; A year-on-year decrease of 46600 tons, a decrease of 38.99%. From January to July, the total import volume of stainless steel in China was 9000500 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 327000 tons, a decrease of 26.64%.

In July 2025, China's stainless steel export volume was 416200 tons, an increase of 26300 tons compared to the previous month, with a growth rate of 6.74%; An increase of 5700 tons year-on-year, with a growth rate of 1.39%. From January to July, the total export volume of stainless steel in China was 2.9163 million tons, an increase of 140900 tons year-on-year, with a growth rate of 5.08%.

In July 2025, the net export volume of stainless steel in China was 343200 tons, an increase of 62700 tons or 22.37% compared to the previous month; An increase of 52300 tons year-on-year, with a growth rate of 18%.

From January to July 2025, the total net export volume of stainless steel in China was 2.0159 million tons, an increase of 468000 tons or 30.23% year-on-year.

In July 2025, the apparent consumption of stainless steel in China was 2.5908 million tons.
