From January to July, China's cumulative stainless steel imports reached 900,500 tons, and exports totaled 2,916,300 tons.

In July 2025, China's stainless steel imports were 73,000 tons, a decrease of 36,400 tons (33.3%) from the previous month, and a decrease of 46,600 tons (38.99%) from the previous year. China's stainless steel imports from Indonesia were 46,200 tons, a decrease of 39,000 tons (45.77%) from the previous month, and a decrease of 49,600 tons (51.77%) from the previous year. Among them, hot-rolled steel imports were 17,400 tons, a month-on-month increase of 29.85% and a year-on-year increase of 7.41%; cold-rolled steel imports were 24,500 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 21,200 tons, a decrease of 46.39%; and a year-on-year decrease of 8,800 tons, a decrease of 26.43%; slab imports were 1,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 11,100 tons, a decrease of 91.74%; and a year-on-year decrease of 19,800 tons, a decrease of 965.19%; billet and other steel imports were 3,200 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 10,800 tons, a decrease of 77.14%; and a year-on-year decrease of 22,300 tons, a decrease of 87.45%.

From January to July 2025, China's total stainless steel imports were 900,500 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 327,000 tons, a decrease of 26.64%. Of this, China's total stainless steel imports from Indonesia were 739,600 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 312,300 tons, a decrease of 29.69%. Among them, total imports of hot-rolled coils were 116,200 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5,300 tons, or 4.36%; imports of cold-rolled steel were 508,800 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 17,300 tons, or 3.29%; and imports of billets and other steel products were 114,600 tons (including 67,300 tons of billets and 47,200 tons of slabs), a year-on-year decrease of 289,700 tons, or 71.65%.

In July 2025, China's stainless steel exports were 416,200 tons, a month-on-month increase of 26,300 tons, or 6.74%, and a year-on-year increase of 5,700 tons, or 1.39%. From January to July 2025, China's total stainless steel exports were 2,916,300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 140,900 tons, or 5.08%. In July 2025, China's net stainless steel exports were 343,200 tons, a month-on-month increase of 62,700 tons, or 22.37%, and a year-on-year increase of 52,300 tons, or 18%. From January to July 2025, China's total net stainless steel exports reached 2.0159 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 468,000 tons, or 30.23%.

From January to July, China's total nickel ore imports reached 19.7869 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.88%.

In July 2025, China's nickel ore imports reached 5.0057 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 659,100 tons, or 15.16%, and a year-on-year increase of 1.5206 million tons, or 43.63%. Of this total, 4.9786 million tons were laterite nickel ore, and 27,100 tons were sulfide nickel ore. Imports of laterite nickel ore from the Philippines totaled 4.6821 million tons, accounting for 93.53% of the month's total imports. Imports of laterite nickel ore from the Philippines totaled 4.6821 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 629,700 tons, or 15.54%, and a year-on-year increase of 1.4087 million tons, or 43.03%. From January to July 2025, China's total nickel ore imports reached 19.7869 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 172,400 tons, or 0.88%. Of this total, imports of laterite nickel ore from the Philippines reached 17.4258 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 188,400 tons, or 1.09%.

From January to July, China's total ferronickel imports reached 6.3932 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 24.16%.

In July 2025, China's ferronickel imports reached 835,900 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 205,500 tons, or 19.73%, and a year-on-year increase of 15,100 tons, or 1.84%. Of this total, imports of ferronickel from Indonesia reached 814,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 203,800 tons, or 20.02%, and a year-on-year increase of 21,400 tons, or 2.7%. From January to July 2025, China's total ferronickel imports reached 6.3932 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.2443 million tons, or 24.16%. Of this total, imports from Indonesia reached 6.236 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.277 million tons, or 25.7%.

From January to July, China's total refined nickel imports reached 132,800 tons, a year-on-year increase of 189.27%.

In July 2025, China's refined nickel exports reached 15,545,572 tons, a month-on-month increase of 5,403 tons, or 53.27%, and a year-on-year increase of 515 tons, or 3.43%. Refined nickel imports reached 38,164,223 tons, a month-on-month increase of 21,154 tons, or 124.36%, and a year-on-year increase of 33,919 tons, or 798.94%. From January to July 2025, China's cumulative refined nickel exports totaled 104,276,609 tons, a year-on-year increase of 45,752 tons, or 78.18%. Cumulative refined nickel imports totaled 132,829,170 tons, a year-on-year increase of 86,911 tons, or 189.27%.

From January to July, China's chromium ore imports totaled 11.9063 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.07%.

In July 2025, China's total chromium ore imports totaled 1.9749 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 334,500 tons, or 20.39%, and a year-on-year increase of 171,800 tons, or 9.53%. Of this total, imports from South Africa totaled 1.6171 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 249,400 tons, a slower growth rate of 18.23%, and a year-on-year increase of 141,600 tons, or 9.6%. Chrome ore imports from Turkey totaled 83,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 26,300 tons, or 46.38%, and a year-on-year decrease of 7,700 tons, or 8.49%. Chrome ore imports from Zimbabwe totaled 147,600 tons, a month-on-month increase of 46,200 tons, or 45.56%, and a year-on-year increase of 21,600 tons, or 17.14%. From January to July 2025, China's total chrome ore imports totaled 11.9063 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 251,200 tons, or 2.07%. Of this total, chrome ore imports from South Africa totaled 9.8739 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 225,700 tons, or 2.23%. Chrome ore imports from Turkey totaled 396,800 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 162,200 tons, or 29.01%. Chrome ore imports from Zimbabwe totaled 934,900 tons, a year-on-year increase of 276,000 tons, or 41.89%. From January to July, China's cumulative ferrochrome imports totaled 1.6706 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 25.76%.

In July 2025, China's total high-carbon ferrochrome imports reached 226,800 tons, a month-on-month increase of 27,900 tons (14.03%) and a year-on-year decrease of 79,100 tons (25.85%). Of this total, imports from South Africa were 108,600 tons, a month-on-month increase of 35,000 tons (47.55%) and a year-on-year decrease of 63,500 tons (36.9%). Imports from Kazakhstan were 78,900 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 7,000 tons (8.15%) and a year-on-year decrease of 10,400 tons (11.65%). Imports from Zimbabwe were 24,700 tons, a month-on-month increase of 8,400 tons (51.53%) and a year-on-year increase of 8,100 tons (48.8%). From January to July 2025, China imported a total of 1.6706 million tons of high-carbon ferrochrome, a year-on-year decrease of 579,700 tons, or 25.76%. Of this total, imports from South Africa amounted to 769,600 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 350,300 tons, or 31.28%. Imports from Kazakhstan amounted to 604,100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 178,700 tons, or 22.83%. Imports from Zimbabwe amounted to 161,400 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 43,900 tons, or 21.38%. From January to July, China's cumulative manganese ore imports reached 17.217 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.23%.

Of this total, imports from South Africa amounted to 1.3647 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 13.8% and a year-on-year decrease of 3.94%. Imports from Australia totaled 406,900 tons, an 81.37% increase month-over-month and a 383.71% increase year-over-year.

From January to July, China's cumulative imports totaled 17.2028 million tons, a 5.4% increase year-over-year. Of this total, imports from South Africa totaled 9.2194 million tons, a 6.7% increase year-over-year. Imports from Australia totaled 922,900 tons, a 46.66% decrease year-over-year.

From January to July, China's cumulative imports of stainless steel scrap increased by 2.52%.

In July 2025, China's imports of stainless steel scrap totaled 7,245,727 tons, an increase of 1,923,357 tons year-over-year, or 36.14%, and a decrease of 1,795,756 tons month-over-month, or 19.86%. From January to July 2025, domestic imports of stainless steel scrap totaled 61,727,753 tons, a 2.52% increase year-over-year, or 1,515,30 tons.
